About
Hi, I’m Alexandros Argyriou, a Software Engineer based in Greece.
By day, I design and build large scale enterprise systems, working mostly with Java, cloud-native architectures, and distributed systems. I enjoy solving complex engineering problems, improving developer experience, and building software that remains clean and maintainable as it grows.
What I enjoy most, though, is learning. Whether that’s exploring the internals of a framework, reverse engineering a piece of software, experimenting with AI, or understanding why a particular design works better than another, curiosity has always been my biggest motivation.
This blog started as a place to document that curiosity.
While software engineering is its main focus, you’ll also find content about two other things I’m genuinely passionate about: motorcycles and chess. From motorcycle reviews, maintenance, and road trips to chess openings, tactical ideas, and game analysis, I enjoy sharing the things I spend my free time learning and improving.
I don’t claim to know everything in fact, most articles begin because I don’t. Writing helps me organize my thoughts, challenge my assumptions, and hopefully make complex topics a little easier to understand for others as well.
If you enjoy deep dives, practical engineering, thoughtful discussions, or simply geeking out over technology, motorcycles, or chess, you’re in the right place.
